DogFit Conditioning & Performance – Terms & Conditions
Welcome to DogFit Conditioning & Performance.
We’re so excited to be part of your dog’s total health. Prior to your first assessment, please read these terms and conditions. Your acknowledgement via the Intake Form/payment is also considered to be acceptance of these terms and conditions.
We hold your dog’s care in our highest priority, and we strive to deliver the best ethical, force & pain-free hydrotherapy, conditioning, and rehabilitation support.
If your session is not paid up-front, the session is not a confirmed booking.
VET REFERRALS
If your dog is coming to DogFit via a Veterinary Referral, DogFit will contact your vet & discuss your dog’s referral prior to your booking being confirmed. Vet Referrals must be completed for the initial session.
BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS
Fees are not based on time. They are based on the Therapy that your dog will be receiving. Sessions allow for ample amount of time to administer the therapy your dog is currently undertaking, and not longer. Longer sessions incur an additional time fee if requested.
All bookings are paid up front. Appointments will not be confirmed until payment has been made. DogFit accepts payment via card & can provide a payment link. DogFit does not provide invoices, accept cheques, nor provide payment plans.
Session or package prices are not discountable or transferable. Hydrotherapy, conditioning & other therapy packages are not transferable as credit towards Behaviour packages.
DogFit is a micro-business, and due to demand for services, reserves the right to cancel or remove a booking if it is not paid and confirmed 48 hours prior to the appointment time to accommodate other customers booking those times. Cancellations within 48 hours of a session incur the full fee of the session.
Please read this important safety information – it applies to our entire premises including the outside and parking areas.
We often have video for our treadmill area to assist with the treatment of our patients. We also take video and photos for assessment purposes. We retain video footage and images for our records. Videos or photos will only be shared on Social Media with the consent of the Client.
If you are taking video or photos, please ask DogFit for permission to post these on Social Media. No sound or inclusion of our therapists is permitted without consent.
INFECTION CONTROL and VACCINATIONS
-
I will inform DogFit Conditioning & Performance IMMEDIATELY if my dog contracts any infectious or contagious disease (e.g., kennel cough).
-
I will not bring ANY dog to DogFit Conditioning & Performance which has contracted or been knowingly exposed to any infectious or contagious disease.
-
You must inform us if your dog has been vaccinated – particularly with KENNEL COUGH vaccine as this is normally given as LIVE VACCINE and your dog should not mix with others for 3 DAYS. Please understand we have vulnerable dogs attending DogFit Conditioning & Performance, particularly those receiving chemotherapy, or those who are geriatric or juvenile.
-
Spot flea and tick treatments can contaminate our water and also may be ineffective if a dog swims. So please leave 4 DAYS after application before attending an appointment.
DISCUSSION OF RISKS
If there is an undiagnosed cardiac or respiratory condition your dog could be at risk. Whilst all due care will be taken, if your dog has a diagnosed or undiagnosed spinal condition, there is a possibility their condition could be worsened by hydrotherapy.
HEALTH AND SAFETY – DOGS
Always have a collar and/or harness on your dog. Dogs without collars or a means of restraint pose a serious health and safety risk to members of staff, other clients, and their dogs.
Keep your dog on a lead at all times unless a member of staff tells you that it is safe to release or hand over to a member of staff. If you are not strong enough or have problems controlling your dog, please ask a member of staff for help.
The flow of dogs in the Centre will be managed according to all dogs’ needs. If the doors are locked, please wait patiently until further advised of when to come in for your appointment.
HEALTH AND SAFETY – HUMANS
Please ensure you listen to and follow all the instructions given to you at the session.
If you are unwell, do not attend the session. If you believe you are well enough to attend, or just coming down with something, please attempt to reschedule your session. If you are attending, you must wear a mask correctly, and follow the rules of distancing, mask hygiene and any other instructions given to you.
TOILETING YOUR DOG PRIOR TO SESSION
It is important that you do not feed your dog 3 hours before your booked appointment, to ensure there are no toileting incidents in our centre or in the treadmill.
An accident will result in the shutting down our treadmill and the cancellation of all clients for the rest of the day to hygienically clean. This results in loss of income for DogFit Conditioning & Performance and the inconvenience for any clients booked in after you.
If your dog is rehabbing with us, and has incontinence, please work with us to make your appointment the latest in the day as possible.
Please be aware that we reserve the right to charge a $150.00 cleaning fee for hydro-treadmill cleaning & $25.00 for any other clean-ups on top of your session fee, should an incident occur.
APPOINTMENTS
Late arrivals – all appointments (Hydrotherapy, conditioning & behaviour)
Up to 10 minutes late – we will start the session or appointment, but your dog will be required to leave the training area or treadmill area to enable the next clients’ appointments to start punctually.
Over 10 minutes late – your session may not be able to proceed.
In these cases, the full charge for the appointment will still apply.
If we are running late for any reason, you will be notified & the appointment will be managed to fit your session in, or rescheduled to fit you in.
In the case of extreme heat and emergency (eg: dog has defecated in the hydrotreadmill), your session will be rescheduled to another suitable time, with no additional fees.
Missed appointments
Due to late notification of cancellations, many of our clients have been missing out on appointments, which is particularly difficult for our rehabilitation clients.
Failure to notify us 48 hours before your appointment will incur the full charge of the session.
If you have missed the session due to emergency illness or injury, the appointment must be re-booked within 3 months of the original appointment and incurs a $30.00 late cancellation fee. Failure to notify will result in the full fee being incurred.
Treats for your session
You are responsible for supplying treats for your dog during their sessions. Please make sure to bring ample treats of good enough value to your dog to ensure a smooth session.
REFUNDS & CREDITS
The full charge of your appointment will be incurred if you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment on a weekday, and by COB Thursday for a Monday appointment.
All cancellations prior to this incur an administrative fee of $30.00.
Packages will not be refunded in the case of a change of mind. Credit for package sessions will be held for 12 months.
In the case that the patient is no longer able to attend DogFit due to loss, 50% of the remaining package value, less transfer fees, may be refunded.
In the case of your pet being covered for treatment by pet insurance, and your insurer has paid your claim, you are not entitled to a refund.
Approved refunds will be made at the close of the accounting period of the month after DogFit has been advised.
BEHAVIOUR
DogFit does not tolerate abusive, manipulative, threatening, bullying or angry behaviour. If this behaviour is shown towards any of our staff, your session will be cancelled immediately. DogFit takes slander and social media defamation seriously, and we do not tolerate this behaviour towards anyone in our business or towards our brand. Anyone displaying this behaviour in person or written form will be blacklisted and banned from any services provided by DogFit Conditioning & Performance International Pty Ltd., as well as the referring veterinary clinic being advised.
